I would particularly like to thank Mike Oldfield for his support in the lead up to getting my P’s first go. After being recommended by several others I contacted Mike in the hopes of polishing my driving before going for my license. I must thank him for his aptitude and dedication even in such a time of short notice. Mike took me on with professionalism and despite not being with him for an extended period, his teaching allowed me to quickly gain the necessary confidence and skills. In a couple weeks I had learnt so many more skills that I never would have known otherwise. It was due to Mike’s teaching style, innately encoded with experience and centered around memory techniques that I was able to rapidly excel with my driving. As a visual learner myself I found Mike’s ability to adapt his teaching to suit me through drawing diagrams and writing instructions particularly helpful. I often had queries or concerns that Mike was always willing to answer, even going above and beyond to respond outside of his working hours. I really appreciated this commitment to maintaining communication with me and I found it extremely useful to my driving to have someone as dedicated as Mike. From assisting me with booking and shuffling around lessons to even making time on his days off, I thoroughly benefitted from Mike as an instructor. Mike Oldfield was a great driving instructor and a big reason why I passed my P’s test. The skills he taught me were invaluable to my knowledge as a driver and every manoeuvrer he taught me came up in the driving test in some form, so I am grateful that he taught me the legal and safe way of doing them. I went from not being able to turn left and right in a safe legal way, to being able to pull off a flawless three point turn and reverse parallel park. I formed a good relationship with Mike as he was patient with my learning and supported me throughout my driving journey. I looked forward to each lesson with him as I knew I’d get some new knowledge and a good chat. Overall, without Mike, I know for a fact that I wouldn’t have passed my P’s test. While on my L's, Arvin was an exceptional driving instructor. She taught me all driving skills in extensive detail, but most importantly taught me how to be more cautious on the roads. Learning how to be more cautious showed me just how important it is to be the safest driver you can possibly be, in order to not put yourself and others in danger. Arvin also took me through a series of mock driving tests to build my confidence in the lead up to my actual driving test. These tests allowed for my mistakes to be made apparent and for me to critically analyse them, work on them, and fix them. She could also see how determined I was to get my provisional licence, so she made sure to cover all driving content throughout my lessons so that I could achieve my goal. Mike Oldfield was an amazing instructor for our son, Jacob. From the moment we met him, we knew our son was in good hands. Not only did he help Jacob pass his driving test (first time!), but just as importantly he really instilled a regard for safety throughout his lessons. The great habits (head checks, safe distances etc ) that the lessons and Mike put in place remain today, many months after our son has received his Ps. After every lesson we could see the improvement in our sons skills, confidence and abilities and we were very grateful for how Mike tried to fit Jacob in after hours when required. Our son also used the driving lessons as a part of gaining his Duke of Edinburgh award and Mike was very happy to help certify the hours Jacob had spent with him. Awesome driving school was a terrific experience, my instructor was Mike, who taught me everything there is to know on the roads, whilst valuing my safety at all times. In Mike and I’s first lesson, i had very little confidence in my driving ability and very limited driving skills. In just 3 months of being his student, i was able to pass my driving test first time. Mike is undoubtably the reason i was successful in passing my driving exam. He is excellent in his teaching methods and significantly improved my ability in all areas of driving, showing me nothing but patience, care and support from my first lesson to my last. My son had lessons with Scott throughout the time he had his L's. A few at the beginning as its been a while since my Husband and I sat for our test and we needed to know all the new rules and didn't want to teach him any bad habits. Then some more weekly lessons in the lead up to going for his P's. We can't recommend Scott high enough, he is very personable, calm and friendly and made our son feel comfortable and confident from the very first lesson.

So I had a week to stay in NSW before moving to Adelaide, and I have given up the hope of ever getting a drivers license in NSW.
I thought I should give it a final crack, after all there is no harm in trying.

Here comes RON, I explained to him my situation, he listened, he was very professional, understanding and motivating but I have got just 2 days to my driving test.
Unless he has a magic wand, I thought my fate was sealed.

Just 3 hours of lessons with RON improved my confidence and I was able to pass my driving test.
I wish I could give a 100 stars, but unfortunately, 5 star is the maximum allowed.

Thank you so much Ron, it was indeed a life changing experience.

I would highly recommend anyone in the Central Coast area to complete their driving lessons with Scott Buchanan. After not being able to gain my logbook hours because I had parents who were unable to take me for driving lessons, I decided I would complete all of my hours through Awesome Driving School. I had my first lesson with Scott and he was friendly, calm, patient, attentive and supportive. I completed all 120 hours with him as my instructor and I passed my P's test on my first attempt! Thanks to Scott, I am now a confident and safe driver.

Mike has been great for our daughter. I picked Mike because of his reviews and experience. Our daughter has some anxiety (she gets it from her mother!) so I was looking for someone who was understanding and supportive but also straight with her giving her clear concise instruction. Her driving has improved immensely but what is the best is Mike gives me time too after the lesson with tips and homework to work on to consolidate the driving they’ve done and keep it the same language and instruction so that she doesn’t get mixed up or start wavering on what she needs to do when behind the wheel. I like his routine approach and this helps her too. Thankyou Mike.

After successfully obtaining my driver Ls, my parents were quite nervous with me driving. After my first lesson with mike, he assured them that I will be great, boosting my parents confidence in me, allowing me to drive their cars. After further lessons mike my confidence grew and my parents could tell. He never allowed any messing around, always making me see the serious side of every situation, giving me crash avoidance skills and key fundamental driving skills. Through this i developed them, driving with my parents. Mike then went onto developing more specific aspects like three point turns and reverse parking which through a lot of practice and a set path to follow i was able to master and adapt into driving with my parents. In the end i learnt everything from Mike and even was advising my parents of the current driving rules and driving techniques. I can defiantly thank mike for helping me pass first time. I passed my driving test on my first attempt! I was in a unique boat - I held an Indian driving licence for 3 years but I had no experience driving in Australia. I didn’t think I needed that many lessons but I realised how different the rules were so I needed to learn as fast as possible in a tight window. Mike was an excellent teacher that not only taught me how to drive safely for the test but, how to drive safely for life. He’s a perfectionist but it made me execute everything excellently with only 2 mistakes on the test! He is detail oriented, and provided supportive drawings and notes to review. He can be very strict but it is with the best intentions because it ingrained his instructions in my mind. It was definitely one of the more expensive driving classes but after trying a few different driving schools in NSW, my experience with Mike from Awesome Driving School was the best. He is a clear, methodical, and most importantly respectful driving instructor who has moulded me into a safe driver after 2 months with a full unrestricted licence now! He’s given me the confidence to hopefully drive all over the world now.

Scott from Awesome Driving School on the Central Coast really IS an awesome driving instructor. He's safe, knowledgeable, friendly, considerate, calm and articulate, and he tailors his instruction to the specific needs of his student. I rode along for my daughter's lesson, today, and I can't overstate how impressed I was.

A few examples come to mind:

1. Rather than firing instructions at my daughter, he asked questions throughout, which forced her to assess each situation herself, and make considered decisions each time, based on understanding, not obedience / blind faith.

2. He then strategically sought out the same sort of situation again, so she could apply what she had just learned.

3. He raised points I'd never thought to mention to her.

4. He was able to clearly describe situations and appropriate actions, even in relatively high-stress situations. For example, at a busy, two-lane roundabout (Central Coast Highway / Wyong Road), he was able to calmy help my daughter identify, for herself, when she should enter the roundabout. He didn't just identify the gap for her or tell her to give way to the right, but instead got her thinking about where cars were actually coming from, when it seemed they would exit the roundabout, and what this meant in terms of when she could go. I do all this stuff myself, when I drive, but it's very hard to communicate it effectively in the middle of a situation like that.

5. He answered all my questions (and there were a few!) without skipping a beat or compromising the lesson.

I'm a very experienced, thoughtful and safe driver, with 34 years' driving experience, and a couple of years' experience supervising my kids on their L's and P's. I remain very calm when teaching my kids to drive; I enjoy it. But still, Scott offered a lot of additional value, over and above what I bring to the table.

I'll definitely be booking more driving lessons with him for my daughter, and will only go to him when my youngest gets

I have had many driving instructors over many years and Jackie was by far the best and helped me pass my test. She is always prompt and friendly and made lessons very educational but not a stressful experience. Would highly recommend Jackie and awesome driving school!

Mike has been a great instructor and has improved my driving skills and awareness levels since I first saw him, Mike made me a more confident driver but also being more safe of pedestrians around me when driving. Thanks to him I comfortably passed my drivers test!
